A shocking crane accident in 1999 convinced the relevant legislative and regulatory bodies to take action and pen the 1926 Subpart CC – 43 regulations governing crane equipment on construction sites.
OSHA 1926 Subpart CC covers “power-operated equipment, when used in construction, that can hoist, lower and horizontally move a suspended load.”
The 43 regulations that follow (plus 3 appendices) cover everything from ground conditions to assembly/dissassembly, from power-line safety to operator certification.
