NCCCO Mobile Crane Course

From bustling construction sites to cutting-edge manufacturing plants, mobile crane operators can be spotted controlling essential lifting machinery in many industries across the country. Keeping up with efficiency while maintaining safety requires staying up to date on the latest industry standards and regulations.

Learn with CCO-certified instructors with years of lifting experience and formal training in Adult Learning Principles. This program is designed for experienced professionals looking to earn their credentials. Through rigorous classroom study, candidates can expect to master the material for their core exam and selected specialty exams:

  • Lattice boom crawler: Cranes with a lattice-type boom that allow them to handle heavy loads at great heights while remaining structurally sound. The crawler undercarriage allows the crane to move through rugged terrain, giving it additional versatility across various construction and industrial applications. Proper ground conditions are essential with these cranes, as the ground needs to support significant loads.
  • Telescopic boom crane Swing Cab: This type of crane has the operator cab mounted on a rotating platform, improving view and control of the load through the surrounding area. This crane system has a hydraulic telescoping boom, allowing the crane to be positioned at various lengths. It is essential to understand how an extended boom can affect the cranes’ capacity through interpreting its load charts.
  • Telescopic boom crane Fixed Cab: A crane with a hydraulic telescoping boom that can be extended or retracted. The operator cab is stationary and does not rotate with the boom. These cranes are typically smaller than their swing cab counterparts and are more commonly used when the crane’s working area is limited and doesn’t need the operator cab to rotate for visibility. While typically more limited in capacity, these cranes can prove cost effective for lighter loads.

Since written testing is now only done on the computer, this course also prepares students with the latest CCO computer testing strategies. CICB is also set up with CCO compliant computer testing to simplify the certification process for everyone attending.
